Box Score 2 UNIONDALE, N.Y. (Apr. 27, 2014) - Wet field conditions from last night's rainfall caused the baseball doubleheader between Molloy College and Queens College to be moved to the Lions' home venue of Mitchel Field. The Lions took kindly to the venue change as Molloy swept the doubleheader from the Knights by scores of 10-3 and 3-1. With the wins today, the Lions are now 16-19 on the year and 9-10 in the East Coast Conference, while the Knights fell to 8-21 (3-16 ECC).

Alex Miden (Ozone Park, N.Y.) was terrific today, pitching eight innings of two-run ball in Game 1. He struck out 10. Offensively, the Lions broke the game wide-open in the latter half of this game. Leading 3-2 following a
Brian Murphy (Elmont, N.Y.) three-run homer in the third, the Lions plated seven runs in the sixth, eighth and ninth. Sophomore
Deilyn Guzman (East Hampton, N.Y.) recorded two RBI triples, while junior
Kyle Van Duyne (Sayville, N.Y.) ripped an RBI double down the left field line.
Game 2: Molloy 3, Queens 1Down 1-0 in the fifth, the Lions tied the game on an
Anthony Alberghina (Staten Island, N.Y.) RBI single, and then took a 3-1 lead one inning later when two runs scored due to a Queens fielding error.
Sophomore hurler
Shea Spitzbarth (Staten Island, N.Y.) continued the trend of great Molloy starting pitching as he threw the complete game, surrendering just one run, which was unearned. He whiffed eight batters.
