(Apr. 25, 2014) - On Friday afternoon, the Molloy College softball team improved to 25-20 overall and 17-7 in the East Coast Conference when the Lions earned a pair of wins in a doubleheader at home versus St. Thomas Aquinas College, 4-3 and 13-0 (five innings). The Spartans fell to 2-32 on the season and 1-23 in the league.

Game 1: Molloy 4, St. Thomas Aquinas 3

While Botte's was a solo shot, Clinton's occured with Botte on-base for a two-run blast. In between those Molloy dingers, in the fourth inning, the Spartans grabbed a run on a solo shot.

In the top of the seventh, down 3-1, St. Thomas Aquinas scored twice to tie the game. Molloy would end up winning the contest in the bottom half of the frame, when senior Dayna White (East Islip, N.Y.) reached on a fielding error, allowing junior Brenda Lee (Corona, Calif.) to score.

In the circle, freshman Chelsea Hawks (Wading River, N.Y.) allowed three runs -- only one earned -- in seven innings. She struck out seven batters.
