Box Score 2 DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Apr. 19, 2014) - On Saturday, the Molloy College softball team played a twinbill at East Coast Conference-opponent Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. In Game 1, the Mavericks defeated the Lions, 3-2, while Molloy bested Mercy in the second contest, 6-4. After today's action, the Lions' record is now 21-16 overall and 13-5 in the league, while Mercy is now 10-29 and 6-16 in the ECC.

Dayna White (East Islip, N.Y.) had a homer in the fourth inning, while sophomore
Tracey Balinskas (Edison, N.J.) recorded a sacrifice fly in the fifth. That was all the Molloy offense could muster in Game 1 against Mercy starter Mary Sieber. In the circle for the Lions, freshman
Chelsea Hawks (Wading River, N.Y.) went 7.1 innings, giving up two runs on six hits. She struck out six.
Game 2: Molloy 6, Mercy 4With the Lions leading 2-1 in the top of the sixth, Balinskas notched a two-run double, while White and freshman
Erin Clinton (Long Beach, N.Y.) had RBI singles to put Molloy ahead, 6-1. Despite three Mavericks' runs scoring in the sixth inning, that would be the closest Mercy came to making a comeback as the Lions won 6-4.
Balinskas earned the win in the circle, going seven innings, giving up four runs (three earned) and striking out four.
