Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. (Apr. 13, 2014) - On Sunday, the Molloy College women's lacrosse team cruised past East Coast Conference-opponent the University of D.C., 22-3 at Georgetown Field. With the win, the Lions are now 7-5 (3-2 ECC), while the Firebirds slipped to 0-7 (0-6 ECC).
This game was all about unanswered runs for the Lions. Molloy opened the game with a 6-0 run through the first eight minutes of the contest. Following UDC's first goal at the 22:03 mark, Molloy reeled off 11 straight goals that extended into the second half to take a commanding 17-1 advantage. UDC scored a second goal with 11:24 left in regulation, before the Lions netted four consecutive tallies. The two clubs traded a goal each before time expired as the Lions had themselves an impressive 22-3 victory.
