Box Score 2 ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Apr. 13, 2014) - On Sunday, the Molloy College softball team fell in Game 1 of a non-conference doubleheader to Philadelphia University, 4-2, before taking Game 2 from the Rams, 9-8. The Lions are now 17-14 on the year, while Philadelphia dropped to 19-8 overall.

Philadelphia cut its deficit to 2-1 in the fourth on a bases-loaded walk, before taking the lead in the top of the seventh. A pair of RBI singles gave the Rams a 4-2 advantage, which turned into a Philadelphia win.

Brenda Lee (Corona, Calif.) smacked a double into the left center field gap to clear the bases and bring in another three runs. Scoring five runs in the inning, Molloy pulled ahead, 6-4.
The Rams retook the lead in the fourth, 7-6, before the Lions grabbed it back. In dramatic fashion, freshman
Erin Clinton (Long Beach, Calif.) launched a three-run homer to left center field to give Molloy a 9-7 lead. Despite surrendering a run in the seventh, Molloy sophomore
Samantha Sauer (Plainview, N.Y.) secured the Lions' win and earned the save.
In the box, Sinagra went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs scored and a walk. In the circle, freshman
Chelsea Hawks (Wading River, N.Y.) received the win after pitching 4.1 innings, giving up three runs on four hits.
