Box Score BROOKHAVEN, N.Y. (Mar. 4, 2014) - With frozen field conditions at the Dean G. Skelos Sports Complex, the Molloy College women's lacrosse team had its 2014 home opener moved to Dowling College's Brookhaven campus on Tuesday evening for a non-conference battle with the No. 12 University of New Haven. The Chargers' high-powered offense came out in full force despite the frigid temperatures as UNH defeated Molloy, 15-3 to improve to 1-0 on the year. The Lions dropped to 1-1 on the young campaign.
The Chargers jumped out to a 2-0 lead within the first 10 minutes of the game off goals by Marissa Fisher and Corinne Fisher. The Lions answered back one minute after UNH's second goal, as junior attack
Casey Naab (Floral Park, N.Y.) netted the team's first tally and halved Molloy's deficit. That would end up being the only goal Molloy scored in the first half as the Chargers recorded five straight to take a 7-1 lead at halftime.
The second stanza wasn't any kinder to the Lions as their guests opened the period with six unanswered tallies to grab a 13-1 advantage. Molloy sophomore midfielder
Katie O'Brien (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) scored her first goal of the year at the 10:26 mark, while sophomore attack
Ariana Cavallone (Glen Cove, N.Y.) scored with 2:29 left. Those two goals did little to knock down the Chargers' large lead as UNH secured the 15-3 victory.

Caroline Winters (Baldwin, N.Y.) made 10 saves.
New Haven's Marissa Fisher and Kathryn Campbell had a hat trick each, while Corinne Fisher and Nicole McKee scored twice each. In the cage for the Chargers, Alyssa Gianotti stopped five shots.
