(Mar. 30, 2014) - On Sunday, the Molloy College baseball team braved the cold and wet weather conditions and completed a doubleheader sweep of St. Thomas Aquinas College, 8-2 and 5-1. The Lions grabbed three wins in the four-game series versus the Spartans, who were picked in the pre-season to win the East Coast Conference Championship this year. With the win, the Lions improved to 8-10 overall and 4-4 in the league, while the Spartans fell to 12-7 on the season and 5-3 in the ECC.

John Galanoudis was on the RBI side of the equation when the junior left fielder lined a single up the middle to bring in his brother Anthony and Bauer. Adding another insurance run in the seventh, Podell scored Bauer with an RBI single.
On the mound, junior
Alex Brosnan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) pitched 5.1 innings, surrendering just one run on three hits, while striking out two. Freshman
Bobby Kelly (Mineola, N.Y.) and Castaneda came on to hurl a combined 1.2 shutout innings of relief.
