Men's Lacrosse Slips Up in Non-Conference Battle Versus Seton Hill, 10-7

Box Score GREENSBURG, Pa. (Mar. 29, 2014) - The Molloy College men's lacrosse team failed to make it three wins in a row against Seton Hill University, losing 10-7 on Saturday in Greensburg, Pa.  Molloy dropped to 5-4 on the season, while Seton Hill improved to 5-2 overall.

The Lions scored first in this one, as an unassisted tally from sophomore midfielder Peter Clark (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) made it 1-0.  The Griffins would respond, however, scoring four of the next five goals to lead after one quarter, 4-2.

Molloy would not score in the final 20:50 of the first half, as the Griffins' defense silenced the Molloy attack in the second quarter.  Senior attackmen Matt Delmonico and Dylan Lefebvre each scored for the Griffins to make it, 6-2 in favor of Seton Hill.

Molloy cut it to a three-goal deficit entering the fourth quarter as Clark netted his second of the game to end the scoring drought.  Junior midfielder Tom Turner (East Rockaway, N.Y.) recorded two consecutive goals to change the score to 8-5 Seton Hill at the conclusion of three quarters.

The Lions were unable to get any closer though, as Seton Hill would hold on in the fourth period, holding the Lions to two goals, both of which came in the final two minutes.

Senior goalie John Grebe )Farmingville, N.Y.) was stellar for the Lions, finishing with 14 saves.  Junior attackman Joe Leonard (Hicksville, N.Y.) led Molloy with one goal and two assists.  Molloy struggled in the possession game, going 6-for-22 in faceoffs. The Lions did add two man-up goals in five opportunities.
