Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fla. (March 16, 2014) - On Sunday, the Molloy College softball team fell in a pair of games against the University of New Haven in Clermont, Fla., 5-4 and 9-0. The losses resulted in Molloy's ledger dropping to 1-3 overall.
Game 1: New Haven 5, Molloy 4The Lions saw a terrific performance from sophomore catcher
Milan Botte (San Diego, Calif.) as she slugged two homers and drove in all four runs for the team. Despite that power outing, the Lions fell to the Chargers, 5-4. In the circle, sophomore
Tracey Balinskas (Edison, N.J.) started and gave up two runs in just one inning. In relief, freshman
Chelsea Hawks (Wading River, N.Y.) hurled 5.2 innings and surrendered three runs (two earned).
Game 2: New Haven 9, Molloy 0Molloy was held to just one hit in the second game, getting shutout by a score of 9-0. Balinskas started again and pitched three innings, giving up five runs, although only one was earned. Hawks pitched the next two innings, surrendering four runs (two earned).
