Box Score Lafayette Hill, Pa. (March 15, 2014) - The Molloy College women's lacrosse team got the best of Chestnut Hill College, defeating the Griffins 17-8 on the road Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Lions improve to 4-3, while the hosts fall of 0-5 on the season.
The Lions went into the half with the 7-5 advantage, but blew the game open in the second stanza. Molloy started the half on a 7-0 run to put away Chestnut Hill.
Senior midfielder
Samantha Arlotta (Garden City Park, N.Y.) got the first goal of the game, one of her four in the contest. Chestnut Hill would then score three unanswered before Molloy would score next, finishing the half with six goals.
Sophomore Midfielder
Katie O'Brien (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) tallied a hat trick in the game, while redshirt sophomore
Ryan Meyer (East Meadow, N.Y.) netted three goals of her own. Sophomore
Caroline Winters (Baldwin, N.Y.) got the start in the cage, and had a storm effort, posting 13 saves.
Molloy had the edge in the draw control battle, 15-12, while the Griffins had a tough day in the clearing game, only going 11-24.
