Box Score 3 MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (Feb. 23, 2014) - On Saturday and Sunday, the Molloy College baseball team earned victories over Nyack College, 6-5, and Caldwell College, 12-2 to even its overall record to 2-2. Prior to the Nyack contest, the Lions lost to Stonehill College, 4-2.
Saturday, Feb. 22: Stonehill 4, Molloy 2The Lions scored runs in the third and ninth innings, but in between those frames were four Stonehill runs that ended up being the difference. Sophomore shortstop

Ryan Dillon (Medford, N.Y.) recorded the first RBI of his collegiate career in the second inning when he drove home fellow rookie
Anthony Alberghina (Staten Island, N.Y.) on a single to center field. Following a Nyack fourth inning that saw the Warriors plate two runs and take a 2-1 lead, Molloy eventually struck three times in the seventh to regain the advantage. Junior
Kyle Van Duyne (Sayville, N.Y.) started it with an RBI single, followed by a Dillon single for his second RBI of the game, and ending with freshman
Kevin Podell (Wantagh, N.Y.) scoring on an error. Despite two Nyack runs in the Warriors' half of the eighth inning, the Lions held on for their first win of the 2014 campaign.
Senior starter
Max Schonfeld (East Meadow, N.Y.) was solid on the mound, hurling 7.1 innings, surrendering four runs, although only one was earned. He struck out three batters.
Sunday, Feb. 23: Molloy 12, Caldwell 2In the team's first slugfest of the year, Molloy scored eight times in the fourth inning to secure its second triumph in as many days. It was an all-around team effort as six different Lions had RBI hits, while a sacrifice fly and a passed ball also helped plate a pair of runs. On the afternoon, Podell, Gonchar and freshman
Ronald Bauer (Hicksville, N.Y.) drove in two runs each, while six Lions had two hits apiece. On the mound, junior
Alex Brosnan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) pitched a seven-inning gem, allowing two runs on eight hits. He whiffed six batters.
