Box Score ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Feb. 22, 2014) - Following a first half where the Molloy College women's basketball team trailed the University of D.C. at halftime, 38-29, the Lions mounted an impressive comeback -- holding the Firebirds to zero field goals in the final 10 minutes of the game, to storm back and win, 70-59. In an impressive Senior Day performance, senior guard
Kelly Guerriero (Floral Park, N.Y.) poured in 22 points, including six three-pointers, and grabbed seven rebounds. With the win, the Lions improved to 13-11 overall and 10-7 in the league, which sits them in fifth place in the ECC standings. Following the defeat, the Firebirds slipped to 18-6 overall and 14-4 in the conference.
From 16:22 in the second half, the Lions put together a 7-0 run to cut their deficit to 48-40. At the 10:19 mark, Molloy reeled off an incredible 25-4 run to close out the game and secure the victory. The final time in the contest that the Firebirds scored a field goal was at the 10:49 mark; those four points were all on foul shots.
