Box Score BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Nov. 1, 2014) - Needing a win or a draw to grab the fourth and final spot in the East Coast Conference women's soccer postseason tournament, Molloy College came up a bit short as the Lions were blanked by the University of Bridgeport, 3-0 in Bridgeport, Conn. The field is now set as Bridgeport will play LIU Post in the semifinals, while Mercy College versus Dowling College is the other semifinal game.
The Lions finish with an overall ledger of 5-8-1 and a mark of 5-4 in the ECC. The Purple Knights improved to 12-3-2 (5-3-1 ECC).

Nicole DellaPorta (West Babylon, N.Y.) held the Purple Knights off the scoreboard until 32 seconds before halftime when Flo Gamby notched the game's first marker. Bridgeport scored twice in the second stanza with tallies coming in the 53rd and 70th minutes to add insurance goals.
The Lions recorded three shots in the contest -- two by sophomore
Danielle Valente (South Setauket, N.Y.) and one by junior
Christina Restivo (New Hyde Park, N.Y.), while Bridgeport had 12. The hosts also held the advantage in corner kicks, 7-4.
In net, DellaPorta stopped two shots in the first half, while rookie goalkeeper
Paige Salmon (West Hempstead, N.Y.) made two saves in the second period.
