GALLOWAY, N.J. (Sept. 21, 2013) - On Saturday, the men's and women's cross country squads of Molloy College traveled to Galloway, N.J. to run in the Osprey Open at Richard Stockton College. The men finished third out of 10 teams, while the women's team didn't place.
In the 6,000-meter event, the women's team was led by senior
Caitlin Breen (Williston Park, N.Y.), who finished in fourth place (24:32.79).
In the 8,000-meter run, the men's team was led by sophomore
Conor Gallagher (Belle Harbor, N.Y.), who recorded a timing of 27:46.28, good for seventh place. Directly behind him, two Lions placed eighth and ninth. Senior
Luke Merz (Babylon, N.Y.) crossed the finish line at 27:46.28 for eighth, while sophomore
Mike Darnell (Wantagh, N.Y.) had a time of 27:57.38 (ninth place). Rookie
Shane Martensen (East Islip, N.Y.) placed 33rd (29:43.10).

Keely Coco, Danny Naud, and the Lions return to action next Saturday, Sept. 28 when they compete at the Harry Anderson Invitational in Rochester, N.Y. The women race at 11:00 a.m., while the men get underway at Noon.
