Box Score ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Sept. 14, 2013) - On Saturday, the Molloy College women's tennis squad hosted Le Moyne College in its 2013 home opener, defeating the Dolphins, 6-3. At the Rockville Racquet Club, the Lions were able to claim two doubles and four singles matches over the visitors from Syracuse, N.Y.
In the first doubles match, seniors
Nikki Gloria (Queens Village, N.Y.) and
Tatiana Rajaona (Paris, France) beat the Dolphins' duo of Kristin Kenny and Jess Geary, 8-0. In second doubles, freshman
Stephanie Rances (Jamaica, N.Y.) and senior
Gabrielle DiCroce (East Meadow, N.Y.) took down Christina Perry and Dominique Canale, 9-7. The Lions got denied the sweep in doubles, when in the third match, senior
Megan Lawless (Baldwin, N.Y.) and junior
Ryan Quick (Long Beach, N.Y.) slipped up against Allyson Jones and Maragaret LaFleur, 8-0.
In the first singles of the afternoon, Rances downed Perry, 7-6 (7-4), 2-6 (10-4). In second singles, Gloria beat Kenny, 6-3, 7-5, while Rajaona rolled past Canale 6-0, 6-0. In fourth singles, DiCroce beat Geary, 7-5, 6-2. In the fifth slot, Lawless was defeated by Jones, 3-6, 4-6. In final singles, Quick fell to LaFleur, 1-6, 1-6.

Victor Caraballo and the Lions return to action on Monday, Sept. 16 when they host Caldwell College at 3:00 p.m. at Eisenhower Park.
