CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Dec. 23, 2013) - On Monday, the East Coast Conference office released its Week Seven Men's Basketball awards, with Molloy College senior forward
John Petrucelli (Hicksville, N.Y.) taking home Player of the Week, and freshman forward
Charlie Marquardt (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.) being named Rookie of the Week.
Petrucelli, who has been named to the ECC Weekly Honor Roll four times this year, helped the Lions to a pair of wins this week, defeating Roberts Wesleyan College and Daemen College. He averaged 26.0 points per game, 7.0 boards per contest, 4.5 assists per game and 5.0 steals per contest. Petrucelli also shot 48.6% from the floor.
Petrucelli, Marquardt and the rest of the Lions return to the court on Saturday, January 3 when they travel to Springfield, Mass. to square off against American International College. The opening tipoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. Please check back for links to LiveStats and/or a video broadcast.
