On October 21, freshman Stephanie Rances (Jamaica, N.Y.) was named East Coast Conference Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week.

Rances earned a singles victory and two doubles wins this past week against ECC-opponents Dowling College and St. Thomas Aquinas College. Versus Dowling on Oct. 18, the Jamaica native partnered up with senior Gabrielle DiCroce (East Meadow, N.Y.) to defeat the Golden Lions' duo of Jen Lignelli and Steph Staiano, 8-1. Against St. Thomas Aquinas College the next day, Rances defeated Sam Vinci in first singles, 6-0, 6-0, and also paired up with Rajaona to best Bianca Signore and Shannon Biehle in first doubles, 8-0.
